Hi Flame,

You're welcome and thanks. :-)

As a matter of fact, there is. :-)
You can use <a href="http://www.donkz.nl/remotedesktopplus/some-tricks-for-remote-desktop-plus/#generate_encrypted_passwords_from" rel="nofollow">Gencrypt for Remote Desktop Plus</a> to do exactly that.

Hi,

I used RDP to created a disconnected session from a task.
On Server 2008 it worked fine.
After upgrade to 2008 R2 RDP started throwing an exception.

An unhandled exception of type 'System.InvalidOperationException' occurred in System.Windows.Forms.dll

Additional information: Showing a modal dialog box or form when the application is not running in UserInteractive mode is not a valid operation. Specify the ServiceNotification or DefaultDesktopOnly style to display a notification from a service application.

FYI

Hi Frank,

Thanks for reporting. I'll look into it.
The /disconnect option was something a couple of people requested. It will login to the session and once it's logged in, it will disconnect again, leaving the user logged in. They wanted to use this for starting programs 'interactively' on the remote computer.

Hi Dan,

Thanks and you're welcome. :-)

I would have to think really hard about that, because it could cause problems when using Remote Desktop Connection to save the .rdp, since it will also save the currently active/selected computername in the .rdp file.
Is there a reason you want in the .rdp instead of using the /v command line option?

Found a little bug.
If you a open a session with the disconnect option and click on this session after the session is auto closed, you get a exception.

Wat is the meaning of /disconnect?

RDP+ is brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to write this!

Is there a way I can make RDP+ connect using an .rdp file that already has the server name in it? For example:

rdp.exe d:\config.rdp /p:mypassword

Config.rdp would already have the server name and username embedded. I would just need to supply the password. If I execute the above command it brings up the GUI with the Connect button, and pressing the button successfully establishes the session. I'd like to skip pressing the connect button and just let RDP+ establish the connection since it has everything it needs.
